Introduction
Typing is a skill of practice of any age which means to enter or write text in any word processing package, not including looking to the keyboard and fingers. Typing does not imply to type only a,b,c but it is also valid to special characters and numbers as well. The typing skill is practical tested by computer and measured with an abbreviation i.e. WPM (Words per minute) or WPH (Words per hour). In typing skill the speed and the accuracy are both required at the same time. The major goal of typing is the saving of a lot of time. The typing skill is directly proportional to the practice that the more you type the good will be your speed.
Getting Started
How you position yourself at your desk using the adjustable chair will decide your comfort even as touch-typing. In particular, pay attention to the following parts of the body during typing:
HEAD
This should be erect (upright). If you slope your head forwards it puts a strain on your neck. So does watching your fingers. If you position your head poorly, then it results in headaches.
SHOULDERS
These should be relaxed. They should be not squeezed or stretching from the body.
ELBOWS
The elbows should be kept close to your body.
FINGERS Curve your fingers, but not so strangely. You have to raise your fingers more if you are working on a laptop rather than a traditional keyboard, that’s why keys on a laptop are closer together and the keyboard flat.
WRISTS Your wrists should be in level, planed for a straight line from the knuckles of middle fingers to elbows.
FEET Keep your feet flat on the floor. Crossing or turning your feet will not give you comfort and will
make you bore.
